Mace's Stephen Jeffery

Mace has announced that Stephen Jeffrey, the firm鈥檚 group technical officer, has been appointed to its board more than two decades after joining the company as an apprentice.

The contractor also said it would be creating a group technical services team on the back of its 2022 Business Strategy, launched last year.

Jeffrey (pictured), who joined Mace 23 years ago as an apprentice MEP manager, has been the firm鈥檚 chief technical officer for the past eight months.

He said his board appointment 鈥渟hows that no matter what discipline you focus on during your career you can always diversify to suit your career aspirations and with the right support achieve your ambitions鈥.

Mark Reynolds, Mace鈥檚 chief executive, said Jeffrey鈥檚 move to the group board 鈥渨ill ensure that we can continue to pursue a better way of doing things, transform ourselves at pace and can continue to deliver on our clients鈥 ambitions for the future鈥.

Mace, which is still building Tottenham Hotspur鈥檚 new stadium in north London, recently secured a spot on the 拢100m Homes England framework for consultants, and 好色先生TV recently revealed the firm鈥檚 construction arm had been confirmed as the winner of the 拢350m deal to build the Cube in Paddington designed by Shard architect Renzo Piano.
