Company will have made 350 people redundant by end of the month
The jobs cull at Galliford Try has claimed its most high-profile victim with the firm鈥檚 infrastructure boss departing.
In spring the firm announced it would make 350 jobs redundant by the end of July, with losses concentrated in Scotland and at its infrastructure division.
Now Galliford Try has emailed staff to say Nick Salt, managing director for infrastructure and member of the board, is leaving.
The contractor鈥檚 head of construction, Bill Hocking, is taking over responsibility for the remaining infrastructure work it carries out.
Salt has led the division since June 2017, having previously worked as managing director for the group鈥檚 rail, aviation, and coastal sectors.
Before that he was rail director at Morgan Sindall and has previously worked as an operations director at Kier.
New chief executive Graham Prothero made the decision to wind up its Scottish infrastructure work and make staff redundant after losses on jobs building the Queensferry Crossing and the Aberdeen bypass.
