The UK-GBC says it will provide leadership and co-ordination in sustainability training and education
The UK Green 好色先生TV Council is creating a Task Group for education and training in sustainability.
The aims of the Sustainability Lifelong Learning Framework is to provide businesses with the skills required to create gree buildings.
Recent research published in 好色先生TV reveals recently and buildings that are failing to meet the energy standards predicted at the design stage.
The SLFF will build on the UK-GBC鈥檚 existing Sustainability Training and Education Programme (STEP).
The Task Group will assess gaps in existing training provision and develop new accredited sustainability courses.
Cat Hirst, UK-GBC鈥檚 Sustainability Training and Education Programme (STEP) Manager said: 鈥淥ur new Task Group will play a crucial role in mapping out the education needs of the sector, and developing a truly robust learning framework.鈥
鈥淭he response to the IGT Report and the Green Economy Roadmap published last week, have highlighted the potential skills gap in the built environment sector that will act as a barrier to organisations embedding sustainability at the heart of their practice.鈥
The Task Group will begin its work in September 2011.
