WHS Halo’s windows were designed to match the rest of a museum
System10 casement windows from WHS Halo were chosen for the cafe in the Spitfire and Hurricane Memorial Museum at Manston in Kent.
The museum’s Merlin Cafeteria was opened in 1993, but solar gain warped the mahogany frames on the doors and windows, which made the room draughty and cold. Local fabricator and installer Stroud Windows installed System10 top-opening PVC-U casement windows and two double French doorsets.
A rosewood foil finish was chosen to match the rest of the woodwork in the building and was double-glazed with Saint-Gobain Planitherm 4S heat-reflective glass. The company was able to provide a coloured foil that blended in with the design of the rest of the museum.
