Marley Eternit’s cement sheet is watertight but limits condensation

Marley Eternit has supplied Profile 6, a high-strength fibre cement sheet with polypropylene reinforcement strips that run along the length of the sheet, for the roof at a private residence in Gorthleck, Inverness.

The company says Profile 6 was specified because, while it is completely watertight, any moisture from inside the building can diffuse to the outside, which limits the amount of condensation within the roof structure. The firm says the completed roof achieves a U-value of 0.17 W/m2K. Profile 6 is designed for roofs of 5° pitch and over, and for vertical cladding in both single skin and insulated constructions. The sheets are available in 10 different colours, including the natural grey finish.
