Programme has been designed to attract talent into construction
Build UK and CITB have joined forces to support and help showcase careers in construction to students and young people.
The programme is designed to help recruit talent and support the Construction Leadership Council Roadmap to Recovery.
Ambassadors volunteer their time and experience to speak to young people about progressing in STEM subjects and careers through a range of activities, including school presentations, mentoring and careers talks.
Suzannah Nichol (pictured), chief executive of Build UK, said the organisation鈥檚 members had asked for Build UK to make it really easy for them to volunteer, visit schools and encourage the next generation to join construction.
Nichol said: "By partnering with STEM Ambassadors we can make that happen. Both employers and individuals can sign up to STEM and together we can showcase the huge range of careers and opportunities our industry offers.
"It鈥檚 a great way to recruit the talent we need, and support the Construction Leadership Council鈥檚 Roadmap to Recovery.鈥
