M&E contractor targets facilities sector
EIC has appointed new marketing director Keith Gilliver to spearhead the company鈥檚 development from mechanical and electrical contractor to full building services and facilities maintenance provider.
Formerly a director at Inviron, and with more than 30 years鈥 experience in the industry, Keith was invited to join the board at the start of the year. His appointment comes as EIC begins to expand its traditional service offering in response to changing market requirements and in a bid to provide added value to its client base.
鈥淢y role is to help the company move away from simply being seen as a contracting company with a service offering, to become a full-service company which has a contracting capability,鈥 said Gilliver. 鈥淭his is something I have successfully achieved in the past and hope my experience will pay dividends for the company.鈥
Gilliver was part of the 2003 management buyout of the UK facilities and building services division of European electrical giant ABB. He was instrumental in the creation of Inviron and developing the service delivery side of the business, growing it from 拢30m to 拢80m in five years.
Ian Lyall, joint managing director of EIC, said: 鈥淲e have seen a growing demand among our existing clients for building and facilities management in recent years. We have the ability to complement both the mechanical and electrical expertise and the test and maintenance division with this increasingly important service. The natural progression is for EIC to expand this side of the business for which Keith has the ideal background. We welcome him to the team.鈥
